2025 Gold Sovereign

The Sovereign represents a unique opportunity for collectors and investors to own the latest edition of the iconic coin in its distinctive red hue, also known as "rose gold". Starting in 2026, the Royal Mint will return to minting the Sovereign in traditional yellow gold, offering customers the chance to rediscover the coin in the metal color most consistent with its origins and rich heritage.

Often referred to as “the most important coin in the world,” the British Sovereign combines artistry, history, and investment value, maintaining its global reputation for beauty, liquidity, and prestige.

Each British Sovereign is in pristine condition, free from any flaws or imperfections, and minted in the current year.

The origins of the British pound sterling trace back to continental Europe during the Roman era, deriving its name from the Latin word 'poundus', which means 'weight'. The pound was introduced as a form of currency in Anglo-Saxon England around 775 AD. Subsequently, Athelstan, the first King to unite England, established the pound as the nation's inaugural currency and instituted mints across the realm.
